28-amino-acid neuropeptide from the secretin family. Activates VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors to produce vasodilation, smooth-muscle relaxation, immune modulation, and anti-inflammatory cytokine shifts. FDA Emergency Use was granted for inhaled aviptadil in severe COVID-19 respiratory failure (RLF-100).

Best timing
Intranasal use — 1–3 times daily for chronic inflammatory protocols. Extremely short serum half-life; effects from local pulmonary or nasal mucosal exposure.

Watch symptoms
- Flushing, hypotension
