Cortistatin-17
Also known as: CST-17 · Cortistatin
17-amino-acid neuropeptide structurally related to somatostatin. Binds all five somatostatin receptors plus the ghrelin receptor (GHSR) and the MrgX2 receptor. Modulates slow-wave sleep, dampens locomotor activity, and shows anti-inflammatory effects in the CNS.

- Half-life
- 1 hours
- Common route
- Subcutaneous
- Typical dose range
- 100–500mcg
- Stability (reconstituted)

Best timing
Pre-bed dosing in research — promotes slow-wave sleep in animal models. Limited human pharmacokinetic data.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy
- Pituitary disease (somatostatin receptor activity affects GH/TSH/prolactin axes)
- Limited human safety data
Watch symptoms
- Sedation
- Possible GH and TSH axis suppression at high doses
- Limited human characterization — most evidence is rodent
- Theoretical metabolic effects from somatostatin pathway activity
